EEB awards over $25,000 in merit- and financial needs-based scholarships every year.

No applications are required. Students enrolled in EEB POSts are automatically considered for the awards, if they meet the eligibility requirements. Please see the EEB Scholarships page for more details.

Northrop Frye Summer Research Experience Scholarship in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology

Awarded to an outstanding student who has successfully completed BIO120H1. The award will fund summer research in the discipline of evolution, ecology, or behaviour. For details about the award, eligibility and the application process please click here.


The Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) offers Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRAs) to encourage student participation in research. USRAs are offered each summer to fund independent research projects supervised by an NSERC-funded advisor. Applications are submitted to the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology; they are typically due mid- to late-February. Please see the NSERC USRA page for more information.
