Research: 
  1. How habitat supply and quality in determining, via life history characteristics, the production and dynamics of fish populations and communities, especially in lakes
  2. The role, on regional and national scales, of climate change and other cumulative pressures on the composition and productivity of freshwater fishery resources
  3. The development of practical tools for use in fish habitat and ecosystem management
  4. Assessment of system analysis tools for managing natural resources, particularly with regard to the role of adaptive management, geographic information systems, and simulation models.
