Research:

Microbial Ecology. Bacteria degrading chlorinated aromatic substances and other toxic chemicals are being used as models to study the role of biogeography in the evolution and dispersal of catabolic bacteria and genes. In addition, bacterial activities and microbial community structures in industrial waste treatment systems are studied.
