Kathleen and Donald Strong Hull Graduate Scholarship in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology

Kathleen Lillian Hull was born in Britain, 1902. She became class assistant in the Department of Botany, University of Toronto, 1930-32; research assistant, 1932-33 plus part-time librarian 1932-34. Kathleen Hull was appointed librarian, 1939-40, librarian plus teaching assistant 1941-42, and librarian plus demonstrator 1948-51. Dr. Hull became lecturer and librarian in Botany, 1955-59, assistant professor and librarian 1959-60. Her promising career ended with her untimely death in 1961.

Donald Strong Hull, Kathleen’s younger brother, was a member of the support staff, Department of Botany. He served as storekeeper for 40 years retiring prematurely on a disability pension in the mid 1970s. Donald Hull died in 1992, having bequeathed a scholarship in Botany in the name of his sister and himself.
