Three EEB Graduate Faculty among 66 to win New Researcher Awards


  • Benjamin Gilbert, ecology and evolutionary biology, “Global change and species diversity: Testing the importance of temperature and ecological drift.”
  • Marc Johnson, UTM biology, “Genomic and phenotypic consequences of asexual reproduction in plants: An interdisciplinary approach.”
  • Kenneth Welch, UTSC biological sciences, “Automated tracking of energy balance in wild hummingbirds.”

Ben, Marc & Ken were among 66 faculty at U of T to win a New Researcher Award.   The awards funded by University of Toronto’s Connaught Fund  supports assistant professors within the first five years of their appointment at the university, helping them establish a strong research program.
