The theme of this year's festival is 'Life in the Universe', with an array of public talks, panels, and performances. The program includes a keynote talk + book signing by Evolutionary Developmental Biologist Sean Carroll at Convocation Hall, a keynote talk by Astronaut Julie Payette, a keynote talk by Jim Bell on using Rovers to find life in the universe, dance performance, Star Trek film night and several scientific panels. EEB/CSB's central involvement is a Panel Discussion entitled The Origin and Evolution of Life on Earth, which includes science journalist Jenny Carpenter as moderator, and EEB professors Spencer Barrett, David Evans and Stephen Wright as panelists along with our seminar guest speaker Cassandra Extavour from Harvard.
Most events are ticketed, some of which are free, and the rest are available at very reasonable prices.
