2. Ontario Graduate Scholarships in Science and Technology (OGSST)
There are two OGSST awards available to EEB graduate students – the Dr F.M. Hill Scholarship in Science and Technology for students studying in the field of Biology and the Charles E. Eckenwalder Scholarship in Science and Technology for students studying in the field of Plant Systematics. These scholarships are valued at $15,000 each and nominations of students for them are sent to the School of Graduate Studies by EEB. A competition is held each year during May and more information will be provided at that time. These scholarships count as part of the guaranteed minimum graduate stipend for the academic year beginning in September following the May competition. Some general information is available at the SGS Awards website.
3. Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Internal Awards
Through the generosity of private donors and matching funds from the University, a substantial number of endowments have been established to provide internal awards to EEB graduate students. These awards will be made as described above under the "Guaranteed Stipend". All students in good standing are automatically considered for the EEB internal awards; there is no need to apply.
